To Our Riders,
Cold weather is on its way. As much as we want to wish the cold away, all we can
really so is be prepared. Whether you are riding at BBF once a week or daily, here is our advice
for what to wear.
The name of the game is layers. You will take some off and put some back on.
First of all keep your hands and feet warm. Wool blend socks and insulated riding
gloves are a must.
You will want a base layer top and bottom. There are great thin layers that fit easily
under riding pants in both synthetic and silk.
Insulated riding pants are available.
On top of your base layer add a warm mid layer. A sweater or fleece will work. A down or
insulated vest on top of the mid layer will keep your torso warm. Add a warm jacket, neck
water and a head band under your helmet to keep your ears warm.
Our in house store, Her Riding Habit, along with our local tack store, The Equestrian Shop,
have all you may need for cold weather riding. Robin, Anna, Alix and Carrie are always
available for advice on winter riding apparel.
